In a city famous for its vibrant collection of art galleries, Galerie Royale, Ltd. has distinguished itself with lasting fine art.
The gallery contributes to the growing cultural community of New Orleans. With a newly renovated exhibition space and the contemporary artwork of many fine painters and sculptors, Galerie Royale is now celebrating its seventeenth year of business.
Established in 1988, Galerie Royale, Ltd. was originally located at 312 Royal Street in the New Orleans French Quarter. The gallery's first director, Bob Crutchfield, contributed to the formation of many private and corporate collections during his nine year tenure with Galerie Royale. In the early 1980s, Mr. Crutchfield owned Live Oak Gallery in Lafayette, Louisiana where he was instrumental in the discovery of William Tolliver, who's work has now become internationally recognized.
Since 1997, Galerie Royale has experienced steady growth under the direction of Nancy Patterson. In 1999, Patterson moved her gallery to its current location joining the many shops and galleries along vibrant Magazine Street. In 2003 Galerie Royale entered cyberspace with www.galerieroyale.com
